No, we do not provide financing. Financing must be secured through third-party lending sources.

Who picks out my campus site?

You are responsible for choosing your campus site, but we will assist you in the process and we do have the right to make final approval. We currently use a site evaluation software to evaluate proposed sites to see how they match up to our core customers. We will use the software to evaluate the first site you propose for free, but we may charge a fee for additional evaluations.

Is there an advertising fund?

Currently, we do have an advertising fund and collect 1% of gross revenue for doing regional marketing. Our current advertising emphasis consists of digital and social media, local marketing, community involvement, charitable associations, to-go menus, a website, and proprietary merchandise.

Do I need to be an educator to lead IDEA Lab Kids classes?

No, you do not have to be a STEAM educator to lead students at IDEA Lab. Our STEAM training program gives you the tools you need to be an effective leader, no matter what your background.

Will you provide me with an equipment list and opening order?

Yes, we have suggested equipment and smallwares lists, and a selection of vendors who will provide you with as much or as little assistance as you need to get your learning center equipped.

What type of business and operation training do you provide?

The Operations portion of our initial training program includes hands-on campus operations training and is held over a five-to-six-day period. In addition, we are developing online videos for designated managers to supplement our interactive classroom training. Our goal during this training program is to provide our franchisees with the ability to deliver a consistent education to kids while maintaining our fun, edgy, and addictive atmosphere. We also provide ongoing training including operations and STEM webinars, conferences, and online resources.

What is the application and approval process?

The path to becoming an IDEA Lab Kids franchisee is an exciting journey. We will work with you to complete the multi-phase process once you have submitted your application. Here is an overview of what you can expect:

  • One of our Franchise Recruitment Managers will contact you to conduct an initial interview via telephone and to help answer any initial questions you may have.
  • Some administrative steps are next, including:
    • Receiving and carefully reviewing our Franchise Disclosure Document.
    • Review your territory options
    • Providing proof of residency
    • Providing proof of assets
    • Participating in a more in-depth review of net worth, including proof of funding.
    • A credit background check.

Once all of those steps are successfully achieved, we sign franchise agreements and schedule you for training.
